The Perfects Background Info
The Reagan years. Killing Joke’s “Eighties” comes to mind, and The Perfects are firmly rooted from that period. The Perfects are heavily influenced by the sounds of Duran Duran, The Cure, New Order, and much of the Alternative New Wave while infusing a very modern appeal with their 21st century production values giving The Perfects distinct sound of of their own.
New Wave is an interesting term used to describe The Perfects. At times they kind of remind me of Muse, and other times perhaps a bit of Maximo Park, and yet other times they are kind of a blend of Bloc Party. No matter who or what you use to describe The Perfects, it all centers around the fact that they are good and have an excellent sound and feel to their music.
The Perfects do have a rather distinct 80s sound to them, which shouldn’t really come as a surprise given their influences (Duran Duran, The Cure, etc.). But don’t think you’re going to be listening to some 80s throwback band. The Perfects have taken that 80s sound and infused it with a modern sound to create something very pleasing to the ear.
The Perfects are Poppy. They are exciting. They make music that will make even the most apprehensive want to start dancing. Check them out!
