The Rundown: Metronomy is an EletrcoPop band from Brighton, England consisting of Joseph Mount, Oscar Cash, Anna Prior, and Gbenga Adelekan. Formed in 1999, Metronomy has released three studio albums: “Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)” (2006), “Nights Out” (2008), and “The English Riviera” (2011). Metronomy has toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Europe along side bands like Bloc Party and Kate Nash.
The band was created by Joseph Mount and in the early days of the band, Joseph performed alone, or with the help of Gabriel Stebbing and Oscar Cash who were referred to as The Food Groups. Eventually The Food Groups were incorporated fully into Metronomy. In 2009 Gabriel Stebbing left the band and was replaced by Gbenga Adelekan. Anna Prior was also added to play drums. Metronomy’s sound is defined as ElectroPop. Their music is composed with instrumental electronics and vocal electronics.
