Well Hung Heart Background Info

I wasn’t able to find a whole lot of official info on the band, so what I am about to provide to you may be changed at some point. Well Hung Heart, founded in 2011, is made up of Greta Valenti and Robin Davey. Greta has been in a few other bands prior to Well Hung Heart, most notably a band called Fuji Minx. Robin Davey is probably somebody, if you follow music, that you should know. Aside from being in a few bands before Well Hung Heart, he has recorded with some rather big names (Buddy Guy & Mick Jagger to name a couple). Additionally, he is the youngest person to ever be inducted into the British Blues Hall of Fame.

Well Hung Heart has been Rocking the socks

(and eardrums) of listeners with their powerful, pulsing Rock-sound and gaining recognition for their efforts at every turn. Their new single, Devil, has an edgy sound that is like a very unique mix of Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, The White Stripes and The Kills. It is intense, crazy, ferocious and amazing.

If this is your first taste of Well Hung Heart, Greta’s voice will likely catch you off guard. While she sings wonderfully and passionately, the first two minutes of the song has her holding back. But to end the song, Greta unleashes a whirlwind of exuberant vocal fury that will grip your attention (assuming for some reason her voice hadn’t already done so) and hold it until you think of nothing other than Well Hung Heart.

And as good as Devil is, it is, in my opinion, only their second best song. My favorite song from Well Hung Heart is, This Is Not Love. The song starts soft, slow, quiet and captivating. The soft, whisper-like vocals will draw you in close. As the song progresses you start to get a Yeah Yeah Yeah‘s type of feel for the song as the guitar blends fabulously with Greta’s voice to create something very special. It is in this song that Greta really demonstrates her vocal prowess as runs the gamut of vocals: high, low, powerful, intimidating, soft, and quietly shy.

Also, as promised, the band has just released their newest single, “This Is Not Love”, so be sure to give that song a listen. I know it’s a bit early, but this song has a good chance to be my pick for MarsBands Song of the Year. Yes, it’s THAT good. Don’t take my word for it, listen for yourself!
