The Rundown: Swedish duo Johanna and Klara Söderberg combine their elegant voices to create First Aid Kit, a Folk/Acoustic/Indie sound. Formed in 2007, First Aid Kit has released one album, “The Big Black & The Blue” (2010) and one EP, “Drunken Trees“. First Aid Kit has a second album, “The Lion’s Roar” scheduled to be released in 2012.

If harmony is your thing, then you are going to love this pair of fantastic singers. Their voices melt together and compliment each other amazingly well. I wouldn’t exactly call First Aid Kit Country music, but, it can’t really get much closer without taking that classification. Not that there is anything wrong with Country, and not that you may never find it here at MarsBands.com in the future, but let’s just say if the idea of a Folkier, less Jazzy/Country Dixie Chicks doesn’t sound good you, then I would stay away from these two. If, on the other hand, I have peaked your interest, continue and enjoy.

These two make some awesome music that is very catchy, very well composed, and their voices are amazing. But what I find the most astounding is that in their performance of Sailor Song for Green Man Sessions, they didn’t even start to bob their heads or tap their feet along with the music. It’s like making great music for them is just so nonchalant. Ya, we made another awesome song, big deal… MarsBands.com is always a fan of harmony, and First Aid Kit didn’t let us down.
