His repertoire features folk, country blues, honky tonk, old time, early jazz, and distinct original songs that tend to magically combine an exceptional command of language with a broad understanding of American musical form. (via Ryan Spearman Band’s reverbnation page)
MarsBands Review
To sum it up, Ryan Spearman is a Jack of all trades. This guy isn’t just awesome at singing, or songwriting, or guitar, or banjo or even fiddle, etc. He’s awesome at all of them. And as if that wasn’t enough, his songwriting ability and vocals are simply beautiful. Similar to The Hudsons‘ song Dead Men Tell No Tales, Ryan Spearman’s songs tell an enthralling, perfectly crafted story in every song.
Officially the Ryan Spearman Band is considered Americana/Country Blues, but if that’s not necessarily your favorite type of music, don’t leave just yet. Give Ryan Spearman a listen. I’ll be honest, Country isn’t exactly my favorite genre, but when you listen to music that is so elegantly constructed with intelligent, passionate lyrics like Ryan Spearman makes, at the very least you can’t help but respect his immense talent.
Do your ears a favor and watch the video in the Band Info Box and then listen to his other songs via reverbnation below. Prepare to be amazed. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
